For healthier lawns, you can accelerate grass growth with nitrogen-based fertilization in April or May
As of May, there will be a rapid development and increase in weeds. Depending on the abundance of weeds, it should be hand or medicated. Irrigation should not be neglected in the spring when the weather is hot
Accumulated grass residues at the bottom of the lawn should be removed. This application is carried out by aeration of the first 5 cm soil layer with grass roots. A rake or a verifier can be used for ventilation. Turf aeration will ensure that grass residues and dry grass are removed.
After aeration, the lawn should be cut to a height of 2 cm. In order to cover the exposed grass roots as soon as possible, 1-2 cm thickness sieved, fertilizer mortar soil should be laid over the whole area. In order to close the already existing cavities quickly, it is useful to throw grass seed of 30-40 gr / m2 known as intermediate sowing.
After the grass seed is laid, the soil called cover soil should be laid onto it. You will see that your lawn is refreshed, compacted and greened within 20 days after the planting. After this development, grass cutting should be performed on average every 15 days. It should not be forgotten that autumn lawn care must be done differently.
Points to consider when conducting lawn care in spring;
- Grass seed should be planted homogeneously.
- After planting grass, pets that can dig and dig soil such as cats and dogs should not be allowed to walk on the grass planted area.
- You can spray against slugs on rainy days.
- Leaving the cut grass on the lawn will increase the formation of rotten leaves and moss. For this reason, always clean the cut grass.
- Do not mow the lawn when it is wet. When making a lawn shape, the grass shape should be made by shortening the length of the lawn by 1/3.
